Esther and Jacob are the founders of  a lifestyle travel blog called Local Adventurer. They visited not only one but three of the Library Hotel Collection properties. Let’s get to know  them more and how their passion for travel started through our conversation for today’s #TravelTuesday #SocialMedia.

Library Hotel Collection: Tell us about yourself… how did your passion for travel and hotels begin?
Local Adventurer: The idea was hatched when we moved out west in 2013 and regretted not exploring more of Atlanta, the hometown we had lived in for most our lives. It’s easy to get too comfortable and take your home for granted. Time is precious and fleeting, and we vowed to make it a practice to explore locally. We hope to inspire others to never to take their own backyards for granted. After all, adventure is a mindset, and it is all around us.

LHC: How often do you travel and how long have you been an active travel influencer?
LA: We move to a new city every year and spend the bulk of our time exploring locally. We’ve done ATL > LA > LV > SD > PDX. Besides that, we travel internationally 2-3 times a year.

LHC: Which of our hotels did you stay in?
LA: We’ve stayed at the Library Hotel , Hotel Giraffe , the Casablanca Hotel 

LHC: From your experience in our hotels, what makes the experience with us unique?
LA: We love the consistency of service that can be expected at each hotel, while still having a unique experience at each one. Plus, we love chatting and asking for suggestions from the staff.

LHC: What will you remember most about your stay?
LA: I always remember the feeling of comfort and relaxation. Some people see hotels as just a place to lay your head down each night, but for us, it also becomes our office and a retreat amongst the hustle and bustle of NYC. We always took advantage of the evening receptions to relax and recharge before getting back out into the city.

LHC: Did you experience any favorite restaurants during your stay?
LA: We are still working our way through our NYC Ultimate Food Bucket List (http://localadventurer.com/places-to-eat-in-nyc-food-bucket-list/), but we always make it a point to stop by Doughnut Plant no matter what.

LHC: Why did you choose to visit our city?
LA: We love how much there is to do in NYC. As travelers, we always prioritize food and photography. This city is the perfect place for both.

LHC: What would you recommend someone do to prepare for a trip to our city?
LA: Make a list, but stay flexible! We always create a short list of things we want to do and places we want to eat, but leave enough room to make changes. LHC: What would you recommend to travelers that they must pack for a trip to our city?
LA: It depends on the time of year, but we always travel with a small day pack (http://localadventurer.com/exped-daypack) that you can throw your stuff into as you explore the city.

LHC: Did you collect any souvenirs from your travels?
LA: We don’t collect much since we’re always moving, but we sure do take a lot of photos!

LHC: What’s next on your Travel Bucket List?
LA: Our list seems to always grow! To help us tackle it, we give ourselves yearly goals. Some of our travel ones are to: see at least 175 waterfalls in Oregon, visit a new country, and do one major hike or backpacking trip.
