The Concept
Toronto’s newest Mediterranean restaurant and raw bar has always been a longtime dream of Peter Eliopoulos, owner of ByPeterandlPauls.com, food and beverage provider for Hotel X Toronto. The name Pétros is Eliopoulos’ namesake and 82 represents the year of which byPeterandPauls.com was created (1982). The foundation of the Pétros82 menu was inspired by dishes Eliopoulos’ Mother, Ekaterini, would cook back home in Greece. Ekaterini’s Greek traditions are complemented perfectly by the creative flare and culinary expertise Executive Chef Richard Andino brings to the table. An exquisite global wine list, expertly crafted cocktails and delectable desserts complete an exceptional dinner experience at Pétros82.
Executive Chef
Detailed and creative are two best words to describe Chef Richard Andino, who embodies over 25 years of experience in the restaurant and hotel industry and over 20 years as an Executive Chef. Born in the Philippines, Chef Richard moved to Canada with his family in the 1970’s, and shortly thereafter discovered his passion for the culinary arts. Chef Richard’s culinary interests lead to his studies at George Brown College, where he graduated with a Culinary Management diploma in 1991. From there, Chef Richard began his career working for a number of established and notable spots in the Greater Toronto Area, including North 44, Rosewater Supper Club, Acrobat and the Windsor Arms Hotel.
The Menu
The menu at Pétros82 features fresh seafood and share plates from the Raw & Cured Bar, Orektiká (appetizers), entrées with vegetarian and vegan options, and of course, dessert. Begin your gastronomical journey to Greece with one of Pétros’ favourites, like the Pringles. These crispy coins of zucchini and eggplant are covered in grated kefalograviera and make for a perfect starter to share.

The phyllo-baked goat feta is a delicious vegetarian option, drizzled with ouzo-spiked honey, and adorned honeycomb and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
If you’re after a vegan entrée, you won’t be disappointed by the Eggplant Lasagna with picante tomato, rapini, spinach, cashew & cauliflower mozzarella, and almond Parmesan.

Always leave room for dessert! We recommend the baklava ice cream, made in-house by pastry Chef Bertie Tanaya.
The combination of wildflower honey, lemon, rosewater and crushed pistachios make this ice cream taste just like the baklava pastry.

For those who are looking to indulge in a gluten-free treat, try the Sokolatina chocolate cake! A brownie made with gluten-free flour is topped with a Belgian chocolate mousse, caramelized chocolate glaze, and a tahini mascarpone, accompanied by a white chocolate caramel sauce, a caramelized white chocolate crumble and last but not least, a zephyr caramel ice cream.

The Drinks
A 1200 bottle wine wall acts as a divider between the main dining area and the lobby bar. The majority of the bottles are from old-world coastal regions such as Santorini, Corsica, Lebanon, Sicily, and the Azroes, with several options to satisfy guests who prefer to enjoy our local Ontario wines. If you need some help deciding, the restaurant’s Sommelier, Matthew Ius, will delight you with his extensive knowledge and passion around the subject. When it comes to the expertly crafted cocktails, you’ll notice the Greek influence in a few of the names (Alexander III, Gladiator, and Santorini). Whether you’re feeling a refreshing light cocktail or an espresso martini, the flavours of Pétros82’s cocktails will please any palette.
