1. Baked Goods
Fall is for indulging. So why not indulge in some NYC’s best fall bakery, sugary, confections. From the most amazing harvest pies at Four & Twenty Blackbirds to pumpkin cakes with caramel cream cheese frosting at Magnolia Bakery. There are so many amazing bakeries with so many options, how can you go wrong?
2. Parades
Give New Yorkers a reason to throw a parade and we take it! On October 31st, The Halloween Parade in the West Village is infamous for some ghoulish fun. Costumes encouraged but not required. Or if Thanksgiving is more style, look no further then the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The nights leading up to the parade, be sure, to make it to the Upper West Side to watch the volunteers inflate the balloons in preparation. You can see Snoopy or Hello Kitty become giants right before your eyes!
3. NYC Marathon Sunday
Nothing says fall in New York City more than the TCS NYC Marathon on November 4th. The race is as thrilling for spectators as the runners. Don’t believe me, and then go watch along the route as it passes through all five boroughs of New York City. Cheer on the runners as they display their drive and determination to complete 26.1 miles. The New York Marathon is known to have one of the greatest fan supports so why not be a part of this year’s race?
4. Oktoberfest
With fall comes Oktoberfest, and if you can’t make it to Munich, try making it to New York. New Yorkers love to celebrate, and we certainly love to celebrate Oktoberfest. We’ve been named the top place to celebrate outside of Munich! Check out Oktoberfest at Watermark Bar. Enjoy the all German beer garden for the next three weekends September 27–30; October 4–7, 11–14!
5. Central Park
One of the most idyllic places to experience autumn in the city would be Central Park. The trees come to life this time of the year, making it the most gorgeous masterpiece of color you ever did see! Grab yourself a warmed apple cider, and get ready to lose yourself from the hustle and bustle.
