Our favorite cocktail bars in NYC!
Published: April 12th, 2016Nothing says Spring in NYC like a refreshing rooftop cocktail. With The Rooftop Garden at Hotel Giraffe reopening to the public in mid-May, we’ve got mixed drinks on our mind! We’ve shared our favorite Speak Easys with you and now, while we patiently wait for happy hours under sunset at Hotel Giraffe, here are a few of favorite spots to get a nice, cool cocktail!
Bookmarks Lounge
www.libraryhotel.com/en/dining-and-entertainment.html / 299 Madison Avenue
For a year round rooftop cocktail, we couldn’t ask for anything more than our very own hotel! Located on the 14th floor of the Library Hotel, this charming bar offers literary inspired drinks in the heart of Manhattan. Perfect for couples, friends and coworkers alike, we love recommending Bookmarks to our entire Library Hotel Collection family! Suggested drink: Tequila Mockingbird
The Garret East
www.thegarreteast.com / 206 Avenue A
-A more spacious version of its predecessor, the Garret East is the place to be on any day of the week. If you’re visiting on a weekend, make sure to get their early to secure a barstool as it can get busy. My personal favorite day to go is Sunday due to the peaceful atmosphere and chats with the bartender. Suggested drink: Hardwood Collins
Fig. 19
www.figurenineteen.com / 131 Chrystie St
-Fig. 19 is a lovely bar/ lounge hidden behind an art gallery. Perfect place to woo someone on a first date, but is also great to have a few drinks with a small group of friends. Suggested drink: Midnight in Paris
Maysville
www.maysvillenyc.com / 17th W 26th Street
-At Maysville you can have an equally great time sitting at the bar or sitting at a table. The oysters are some of the best I’ve ever had and after tasting some of their aged bourbon, you’ll rethink whatever your go-to drink is. Suggested drink: Any of their 150+ Whiskeys
The Ship
www.theshipnyc.com / 158 Lafayette Street
-The Ship’s layout creates an underground atmosphere with descending steps a few feet from the entrance. The bartenders are extremely knowledgeable and can spawn creative iterations of any kind of drink you desire. Suggested drink: Bee Keeper
Brooklyn Bonus-
Bar Below Rye
www.ryerestaurant.com / 247 S 1st St, Brooklyn
-Just across the East River in the burgeoning Williamsburg and located under neighborhood favorite Rye Restaurant, Bar Below Rye offers classic cocktails with a modern twist in an unpretentious atmosphere. Suggested drink: Old Fashioned
We look forward to welcoming you to the Rooftop Garden at Hotel Giraffe next month! If you have any other suggestions for our team, feel welcome to contact the concierge at Hotel Elysee, Casablanca Hotel, Library Hotel, or Hotel Giraffe. Enjoy your stay and let us know if you went to any of the places we recommended. We would love to hear your feedback!
