Top 5 Steakhouses we recommend
Published: August 3rd, 2016With so many amazing steakhouses to choose from in NYC, where does one start? Here is our choice of 5 top Steakhouses in NYC for you to explore and try out during your trip to NYC.
Benjamin Steakhouse – 52 E 41st Street New York NY 10017
If you do not wish to venture out of Manhattan, Benjamin’s Steakhouse is the perfect choice for you. From steak to lamb and even seafood including salmon, the chefs, each succulent dish is cooked to perfection. Your taste buds will thank you for going here!
Gallagher’s Steakhouse – 228 W 52nd St, New York, NY 10019
Gallagher’s Steakhouse ages its own hand-selected meat, which is prominently showcased in the restaurant’s meat locker. Given its Midtown location and perfectly aged USDA prime beef steak, Gallagher’s is an excellent choice for a pre- or post-theater dinner in Manhattan.
Wolfgang’s Steakhouse – 250 West 41st Street, New York, NY 10036
After years working as head waiter at Peter Luger’s, Wolfgang Zweiner opened his very own steakhouse, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse. At Wolfgang’s, Zweiner made sure the steak dishes were not simply a duplicate of Peter Luger’s, but he wanted to add to the perfection. The phenomenal porterhouse is big enough to share, or you can indulge in your own rib eye or sirloin.
Keens Steakhouse – 72 W 36th St, New York, NY 10018
Travel back in time for a unique dining experience at Keens Steakhouse, which pays homage to the 20th Century through Victorian-era décor and the world’s largest collection of churchwarden pipes along the ceiling. A true New York City landmark, Keens is the only survivor of the Herald Square Theatre District and the second oldest steakhouse in NYC.
Peter Luger Steak House – 178 Broadway, Brooklyn, NY 11211
If you’re looking to venture to Brooklyn for your next great steak, look no further than Peter Luger’s Steak House. Don’t get discouraged by the location – Peter Luger’s may be in Brooklyn but it is one of the best steaks you will have around NYC, and the restaurant has earned itself a Michelin Star among many other accolades. Their tedious meat selection process ensures that every steak served is among the country’s finest cuts. Please note they do not accept credit cards.
E&E Grill House – 233 W 49th St, New York, NY 10019
My special extra pick, E&E Grill House, is technically not a steakhouse, but I wanted to include an option that will please steak and non-steak lovers alike. E&E doesn’t call itself a steakhouse because the menu offers much more than steak, making it the perfect place to satisfying everyone’s taste buds and cravings. Nonetheless, the steaks are grilled to perfection and the menu boasts several other standout dishes including fantastic burgers and tofu.
