No matter which of our four New York properties you are visiting this summer, you are in for a wonderful experience! New York is filled with fun summer activities, and the New York’s calendar is jam packed with interesting things to do and see. Here are some of our top recommendations to fill the summer days!
Summer in the Park(s)!
Hotel Elysee is lucky enough to be just a few blocks from Central Park! With a number of tours offered daily, there is always something new to explore! If you are looking for some other options you can also visit the Central Park Zoo or enjoy a morning Yoga class in the park! For the Shakespearean at heart you should make it a point to to venture over to Central Parks Delacorte Theather for Shakespeare in the Park! While “Othello” will only be available for viewing from now and until June 24th the “Twelfth Night” will be performed numerous times between July 17th and August 19th.
For guests of either Library Hotel or Casablanca Hotel, you are just minutes away from Bryant Park! Bryant Park offers an array of activities from Morning Pilates to afternoon juggling and evening ‘sip and paint’ sessions. There is truly something for everyone to enjoy all summer long! For guests of Hotel Giraffe, Summer in the Square is available over the next few months in Union Square! This summer long event sees different activities and performances every Thursday throughout the summer! Fitness activities are available as well as Jazz performances and plenty of fun filled activities for kids to enjoy! Every August Park Avenue becomes the ultimate adrenaline junkies paradise! Summer Streets is hosted on 3 consecutive Saturdays throughout the month and 7 miles of open city streets become a playground for adults and children alike. The streets are filled with different activities ranging from zip lining to biking and running. Jog on over to 72nd street and spend the day exploring Park Avenue all the way to the Brooklyn Bridge. There are rest stops and events happening along the entire route! So much to see and even more to enjoy!
Since the 1980’s movie lovers have been attending free showings of new and classic films all over the city. Movie goers can enjoy films such as Black Panther or Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Most larger NYC parks, including Washington Square Park, Union Square and Bryant Park are showing films but if you can then definitely check out one of the films being shown on The Intrepid! Warm Up at MOMA PS1
MoMA PS1’s annual concert series, Warm Up, is back for its 21st summer of art & music! Featuring an array of musical performances this museum turned music venue is like no other! New and emerging artists light up the stage as you take the in exhibits! Hosted over ten Saturdays, you can catch a performance no matter which weekend you are in the city during the summer! Jazz Age Lawn Party
Travel back to the 1920’s this summer on Governor’s Island! The Jazz Age Lawn Party, named one of the year’s most memorable events, is your chance to relive the roaring twenties!
