5 reasons to look forward to spring at the Aria Hotel Budapest!

Published: March 10th, 2016

Every season in Budapest has its perks, but our favorite is definitely Spring. The staff at the Aria Hotel Budapest is really looking forward to the warmer weather, beautiful flowers and the great food that is  is slowly making its way back to life after a fairly long winter! Here are a few of our favorite things about Budapest in the spring. We promise there’s no doubt that you will find more than enough ways to enjoy Budapest at every turn.

1) Parks & Spring Festival

The city becomes an irresistible destination, with blossoming trees and beautiful flowers lining the cobblestone streets and filling the large number of green spaces throughout the city. The parks that are situated all over Budapest each make the perfect setting for both visitors and residents alike to relax and soak in the sun. In addition, the warmer months means the Budapest Spring Festival will begin soon! The Spring Festival lasts two full weeks, between April 8th and April 24th, 2016, and celebrates Hungary’s rich history of music and offers many different types of  performances ranging from classical orchestras to various jazz ensembles.

2) The Food!

One of the most exciting things that spring offers is a change in the food menus of some of our favorite eateries. Stradivari, has some really tasty things planned for their spring menu. In particular, we are looking forward to the Ossobuco with paprika veal sauce and egg spätzle lasagne. It is a surprising but powerful combination, which will be loved by the fans of both Hungarian and Italian cooking. After dinner we recommend taking a stroll through the charming streets of Budapest and perhaps ending the evening with a sweet treat, it is Ice Cream season after all! Our neighbors, Gelarto Rosa, have some of the freshest homemade gelatos in the area!IMG_4639_2

3) Harmony Rooftop Yoga!

With spring coming up so soon it means it’s time to switch into spring mode! On Sunday Mornings one of Budapest’s best Yoga instructors, Petraflow, leads the Harmony Rooftop Yoga class. What better way is there to relax than under the deep blue sky with a beautiful spring breeze while listening to the bells of St. Stephens Basilica!

4) Specialty Spring Cocktails!

Many of the cocktails bars and lounges in Budapest are very much into “Craft Cocktails” and we’re more than ready to indulge in some light and refreshing drinks.  One of our favorites cocktail lounges, Boutiq Bar, is only about a 5 to 10 minute walk from the hotel and we recommend trying the Derby. The Derby is a take on the classic Mint Julep, except with gin instead of bourbon and hints of peach. It is quite refreshing. Of course, if you’d rather stay a little closer to home, the High Note SkyBar offers exquisite cocktails, our recommendation is the Brasiliar, which is made with cachaca, lime and blueberries.

5) Last but not least, lounging at the High Note SkyBar

Whether you’re bathing in the sun, enjoying a romantic dinner looking over the city of Budapest or you are simply having a drink with friends, the High Note makes the perfect backdrop for any event! The High Note offers panoramic views of the city and has both indoor and outdoor areas, which are perfect to protect you from those sneaky April Showers!  Make sure you take a few pictures and tag us on your favorite social media account!
