Relax & Rejuvenate with our favorite spas in NYC!

Published: November 4th, 2014

How do New Yorkers unwind and relax after a long day in the busy city?  After a full schedule of exploring, shopping and eating; residents and visitors alike find plenty of ways to rejuvenate.  Library Hotel Collection delights in welcoming guests to evening wine & cheese receptions and providing amenities to assist in a relaxing night of sleep, but we also know the best places to Spa!  Whether you’re looking for a quick treatment or a full day of relaxation, our concierge teams are prepared with numerous recommendations.  For today’s installment of National Blog Posting Month, I have picked my three favorite ‘sanctuaries in the city’.

Kiehl’s Spa 1851

Kiehl’s has been offering natural skin care and beauty solutions since 1851, and it isn’t a coincidence that they’ve stuck around.  Their extensive beauty and cosmetics line can be purchased in stores around the city, but to fully experience their self described ‘old-world’ holistic approach to healthier skin, we recommend visiting Spa 1851, their Upper East Side oasis.  Offering signature facials and body treatments that are personalized for each guest, the team at Kiehl’s is dedicated to helping each customer receive and maintain healthy and glowing skin.  I highly recommend the Deep Pore Cleansing Facial, best for guests who do not receive facial treatments regularly. The 60 minute service is designed to exfoliate, cleanse and moisturize the skin and will leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed for days after!

Bliss

With three locations in New York City, Bliss the perfect spa for those who have a limited amount of time and need a quick break for pampering.  Not only do they offer massages and facials with their successful product line, they also offer waxing and nail care for guests who want to freshen up before a fun filled evening.  And to make your holidays even brighter, for a limited time they are teaming up with Swarovski Crystal and offering ‘Rock the Holidays’ Manis & Pedis starting at $40.  Though I haven’t experienced this treatment yet, I fully intend to!

Great Jones Spa

While Bliss is perfect for a guest on the go, Great Jones Spa is the only place to be for guests who want to spend an afternoon, evening, or even a full day relaxing and rejuvenating. ggspa    This sanctuary nestled in NoHo not only offers award winning facials and massage treatments, but offers a custom water lounge including a river rock sauna, chakra-light steam room, Jacuzzi and cold plunge; all accented by a three story indoor waterfall.  While the water lounge is complimentary to guests receiving a treatment over $100, visitors can also purchase a water lounge pass for $55.  Though every staff member is highly knowledgeable on ‘how to spa’, I highly recommend beginning with the sauna, relaxing in the Jacuzzi, using the steam room for 10 minutes and ending with a brave dip in the cold plunge!  Attached to Great Jones is also an organic juice bar offering salads, smoothies and wraps so you never have to leave.

How do you spa?  Feel welcome to share your recommendations with us and your fellow travelers!  For further information and recommendations, please feel free to contact our concierge teams at the Hotel ElyseeLibrary HotelCasablanca Hotel, or Hotel Giraffe!
