Buy One. Give One Vacay Layaway to Thank our Health Care Heroes

Library Hotel Collection participates in ‘Buy One, Give One’ campaign for future travel & as thank you to healthcare heroes #buyonegiveone

New “Vacay Layaway” offer incentivizes travelers to book future hotel stays through the purchase of gift cards while giving back to frontline healthcare professionals

NEW YORK (April 30, 2020) – The Library Hotel Collection’s four New York City properties – the Library Hotel, Casablanca Hotel, Hotel Giraffe and Hotel Elysee – along with the collection’s newest property, Hotel X Toronto, have united with more than three dozen members of the hospitality industry to participate in Buy One, Give One, a “vacay layaway” program spearheaded by the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI). The Buy One, Give One program is designed to generate immediate revenue for hotels, while simultaneously providing a “thank you” to healthcare workers who have been tirelessly working on the front lines.

The Library Hotel Collection’s Buy One, Give One offer lets guests purchase gift vouchers in the amounts of $250, $500, $750 and $1,000, and with each purchase, a matching donation of 50% of the net proceeds from the sale, up to $100,000, will be donated to the health care heroes at New York-Presbyterian Hospitals. These gift vouchers will be distributed to medical professionals who can use them toward future leisure stays at participating Library Hotel Collection properties as a thank you to all they are sacrificing during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Both healthcare workers and participating guests will be able to apply the funds to any publicly discounted rates such as the Travel with Ease rate that features a 15% discount and a flexible cancelation policy. The Buy One, Give One campaign runs from April 29-June 30, 2020 and the prepaid gift vouchers may be redeemed for up to 5 years after purchase.

“We are thrilled to be part of the Buy One, Give One program that gives thanks to the frontline healthcare workers who are tirelessly putting their lives at risk each day to make our community safe and healthy,” said Adele Gutman, VP of Sales, Marketing and Revenue at the Library Hotel Collection. “We have chosen the Healthcare Heroes at New York-Presbyterian, which serves New Yorkers not only here in Manhattan, but also Queens, Brooklyn, and Westchester, communities which have truly been hardest hit, and where many of our staff members call home.”

Hospitality has been one of the industries most impacted by the coronavirus pandemic with 70 percent of hotel employees laid off or furloughed and eight in 10 hotel rooms empty, according to data released by the Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA). This campaign, created by MMGY, the largest integrated marketing company specializing in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry and the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) is a joint effort to help not only the hospitality community with much-needed funds but also to pay it forward to healthcare workers who put their lives on the line to care for the sick.
