Holiday & Winter pop-up bars in NYC!
Published: December 21st, 2018Around the holidays New York City is filled with pop-up stores, but this year we noticed that more and more every day restaurants and bars have transformed their space into a winter wonderland for all to enjoy. Grab a cup of cocoa and a fleece lined blanket and catch up on some of our concierges favorite NYC holiday & winter pop-up bars & restaurants!
Serra Alpina by Birreria
200 5th Avenue
Serra is a year round rooftop beer garden located in Eataly Flatiron. During the winter months Serra becomes an enchanting glass-enclosed hideaway, which is designed to look like a quaint alpine village. Their menu is made up of warm, hearty meals with a wide variety of seasonal drinks and specialty winter cocktails to choose from. Because of the restaurants location, we highly recommend reservations.
Ophelia’s Snow Globe
3 Mitchell Place
(East 49th Street & 1st Avenue)
Ophelia’s rooftop bar is a staple to the Midtown neighborhood, Sutton Place. Ophelia is nestled on top of the Beekman Tower and is literally dripping with crystal garland. The over-the-top glitz makes you feel as if you are sipping a cocktail inside of a life sized snow globe. This amazing venue received our concierges top pick for the most Instagram worthy bar in NYC!
Rolfs
281 3rd Avenue
Anyone who LOVES Christmas as much as I do, has to visit Rolf’s Restaurant! This German eatery is completely covered in beautiful glass ornaments and tasteful white lights. The restaurant is extremely popular with locals and tourists alike, but we recommend visiting for a glass of mulled wine or eggnog. While you are sipping on some holiday cheer make sure to check the availability for a table. Reservations are extremely difficult to come by, but if you can snag a table we highly recommend trying the schnitzel, it’s delicious!
Snowday in Brooklyn
68 South 2nd Street
Our next stop is off of the L Train in Williamsburg! Snowday in Brooklyn is a pop-up holiday bar that can be found at the year round restaurant, Sunday in Brooklyn. The rustic-chic decorations and the blazing fire place leave you feeling like you are relaxing mountainside at a ski-chalet. Their holiday season cocktail list is cleverly split into two categories, The Naughty List and the Nice List, so be sure to choose wisely!
Old Town Bar
45 East 18th Street
Last but not least you have to make sure you plan a visit to the Old Town Bar for a relaxed atmosphere in one of NYC’s oldest bars. The seasonal decor is far from over the top, but the holiday spirit is prevalent. One of the best parts about Old Town Bar is its location. You can stop by the Holiday Market at Union Square for some shopping and then venture on over to this NYC landmark. By the way, they have a great selection of traditional pub food!
