The Orchid Show: Thailand at New York Botanical Gardens

The Orchid Show: Thailand; is open until April 9th. The Orchid Show is celebrating their 15th year at NYBG by honoring Thailand’s rich cultural history and wealth of orchids. This year’s exhibition offers an amazing display of blooming orchids in a tropical garden, including the most beautiful of them all, the rainbow orchid. Their large patterned blooms are very popular in Thai homes and gardens. You and your travel companions can also enjoy an enchanting Thai dance performance, film screenings, tours, and even learn about orchid care.

a different way. From April 5-16 you can experience elephants put back in the ring as puppets and see with your own eyes a tradition circus with a fresh spin on it. People of all ages will enjoy this magnificent show full of unique, amazing and dangerous circus acts.

NYC International Auto Show

This is the most popular event in New York City since 1900. Now is your chance to find out what makes it so extraordinary. The NYC International Auto Show rolls into town on April 14 and runs through April 23, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center located at 655 West 34th Street (at 11th Ave.), New York, NY 10001.
The auto show offers all auto enthusiasts to check out the latest trends, extraordinary innovations, various ultra luxury sports cars and more. For 10 days the 4 floors of the Javits Center will be filled with over 1,000 vehicles.

Easter Parade

It’s time to break out your Easter bonnet and join along in New York City’s Annual Easter Parade taking place on April 16th. The Easter parade has been a NYC tradition since the 1870s and encourages parade goers to wear their Sunday best! If you would prefer to watch, the best place is near St. Patrick’s Cathedral, where the parade begins at 10 A.M. and travels up 5th Avenue to 55th Street.

The “Sound of Ikebana (Spring),” created by Naoko Tosa, will light up Times Square’s billboards each night in April between 11:57 p.m. and midnight as part of the “Midnight Moment” series by Times Square Arts and the Times Square Advertising Coalition.
Tosa’s design is part of a four-video art series. The “Sound of Ikebana (Spring)” expresses Japan’s spring season by using vibrant colors inspired by cherry blossoms as well as white and gold of Japanese New Year. Let this unpredictable display take you on a contemplative journey with traditional Japanese culture and history. See you in Duffy Square!
Baseball Season Begins

Last but not least, no trip to NYC is complete without going to the ball game! The season begins as the weather warms up. Visit the new Yankee Stadium in the Bronx to witness one of the most loved (and hated) teams return to their stomping ground.
