Plan Your Proposal in NYC this Holiday Season!
Published: November 30th, 2014The Holiday Season is officially here in NYC and love is in the air! People travel from all over the world with their loved ones to see the twinkling lights, shop, ice skate…and propose! Here are Library Hotel Collection’s favorite ‘hot spots’ for proposals during the Holiday Season:
The Empire State Building is quite possibly the most iconic landmark in New York City. The tower lights shine like a beacon over the skyline and is a must see for anyone visiting. The nighttime views from the tower highlight the beauty of New York, from Central Park all the way down to One World Trade, and offer a perfect setting for a romantic proposal. We recommend surprising your partner by encouraging them to look at Times Square through a view finder while you covertly remove the ring from its hiding place. When they turn around they are certain to be amazed by the magical moment!
If you love the view of the Empire State Building, Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center is the place to propose. Although not as tall, you can see all of Manhattan, including the Empire State. A day proposal is perfect at this destination, as the sun beautifully reflects off of the Swarovski Crystal Radiance Wall, which glimmers delightfully and offers a semi-secluded place to pop the question!
The Holiday Tree at Rockefeller Center
If up in the air isn’t what you’re looking for, travel to the ‘bottom of the Rock’ to Rockefeller Plaza. The Holiday Tree is one of the most beautiful and certainly the largest Holiday attraction in New York City. Best of all, this wonderfully romantic option is for free! The evening is the best time to propose so you can both be mesmerized by the dazzling lights. The ice rink generally has a significantly long line, so if you don’t want to spoil the moment by waiting, take your partner to the row of Angels and profess your love!
Central Park is gorgeous year round, but we find it particularly beautiful in a blanket of snow. With so many perfect proposal locations to choose from such as the Bethesda Fountain, the Belvedere Castle or the Gapstow Bridge, it’s difficult for us to decide our favorite! We do, however, know what Silvia at The Casablanca Hotel would recommend – her husband proposed to her while on a carriage ride through the park!
Have you already proposed and are planning to elope in the city? New York City Hall is beautifully appointed during the holidays and is perfect for a small and simple ceremony. Hotel Giraffe’s How to Elope in NYC package is wonderful for couples looking to elope as it includes all of the information you need to know when planning your big day with some added celebratory treats!
We would love to help you plan your proposal or elopement this season! For assistance or recommendations, please feel welcome to contact our concierge team at the Hotel Elysee, Library Hotel, Casablanca Hotel, or Hotel Giraffe!
