The Bentway Skate Trail

The Bentway Skate Trail is a figure-eight skating course for you and your family to enjoy. This is the second year of its opening, but you’ll still find every accommodation you may need. There are skate rentals and even skating lessons offered at the trail. King’s Winter Market

This local Holiday market is hosted at the Serpentine Pavilion which has received 50 thousand guests since September. At this market, local vendors will be selling holiday goods and food. There will also be Christmas trees for sale and the proceeds will go to West Neighborhood House, which is a nearby social services agency. At this market, there’s also a large turkey giveaway for families/individuals in need which is a long standing tradition and a great way to give back to the community. Corteo by Cirque du Soleil

For those of you who don’t know, Corteo by Cirque du Soleil is a performance illustrating a clown’s imagination of his own funeral taking place in a carnival setting. The show takes spontaneity and comedy to the next level, and the use of unusual stage structures provides new perspectives for the audience. There are a total of 51 elite cast members from around the world present to pull the entire show together and they’ve worked tenaciously to get there. Find more info here.

Kensington Market Winter Solstice

The public is encouraged to come and celebrate this unique tradition of Toronto where everyone welcomes the “return to light” through a dramatic performance. On this night, thousands of people come together as a community and take part of this event. These performers range from stilted dancers to fire breathers with many other kinds of performances in between, and it all leads up to the fiery grand finale. Find more info here.
