Wake Up with Coffee in NYC!

It’s no surprise that the city that never sleeps must be home to some of the best coffee shops! Even on vacation, we all need a little pick-me-up. Not only do all of our hotels offer robust coffee, tea, and snacks throughout the day in our clubrooms, we’ve got the best recommendations for java in the city!  There are so many coffee spots to try and our fabulous intern, Christina,  has compiled a list of a few NYC local favorites!

Birch Coffee: Multiple locations

Walking by Birch Coffee you will find that the line is more often than not out the down the block! Do not let the line discourage you; this coffee is definitely worth the wait! The owners of this specialty coffee shop ensure that each brew is truly…special. They manually roast each small-batch by hand in Long Island City and deliver them to each of their 8 locations. Birch offers different brews, hot and cold selections, their popular Kyoto drip iced coffee, and a selection of beer and wine. Pop in for the coffee and enjoy it in their relaxing café.

Third Rail Coffee: 240 Sullivan Street

This trendy little shop is tucked away in the East Village. While the location is small, the flavors they serve are anything but! Their menu consists of delicious brewed coffees, specialty drinks like macchiato and mochas, teas and hot cocoa. They also offer a wide variety of tasty baked goods and treats including croissants, scones, and a variety of Doughnut Plant doughnuts. If you’re in the Washington Square Park area these coffee and treats and worth a stop! Please note that this location is cash only!

Culture Espresso: 72 West 38th St. and 247 W 36th St

Culture Espresso is a unique spot that is continuously changing its design as well as coffee supplier. They partner with some of the best coffee roasters and select only the best to bring to their NYC locations. Their presentation is something they take great pride in, making their lattes photo-worthy. They also offer a selection of house-made cookies and a variety of treats from vendors such as Blue Sky Bakery, Dough Doughnuts, and Magpies. The interior of the shops are constantly undergoing artistic changes as they continue rotating-artist exhibits, both local and international. You’ll want to keep coming back to this shop to see what’s new!

Gregory’s Coffee: Multiple locations

You may have seen people walking all over NYC with this cool cup in hand, which is not so surprising because Gregory’s has 17 locations throughout the city! The shops menus consist of coffee, including their highly-rated Dirty Chai latte, smoothies, and a counter-length selection of pastries. The shops offer space to enjoy your cup, free wifi, and coffee happy hour from 12pm-2pm. Some locations will even deliver coffee and baked goods. Gregory’s just might be the city’s next big chain coffee shop!
