A Hotel Giraffe Wedding: Amelia & Chase

Published: January 24th, 2018

Isn’t it great to go back to where it all started? Well, that is exactly what one of our September 2014 couples did! Amelia & Chase were local NYC chefs who got engaged at Hotel Giraffe’s Rooftop Garden Bar! A few years later, they returned to the place where it all started for a wedding of their dreams.

Amelia & Chase are absolutely perfect for each other! Even when rain could have dampened the day, Chase, with his cool and calm demeanor, knew exactly what to say to keep Amelia happy and in the moment for one of the happiest days of their lives!

Major shout out to Jessi Bowman for these absolutely stunning photos!

With an intimate group of about 40 guests, Amelia & Chase hosted their Wedding Ceremony & Reception at Hotel Giraffe’s Rooftop Garden & Penthouse 1202!

Although rain started to creep into the forecast as we started to set up for the ceremony, there was no need to fear! Hotel Giraffe umbrellas to the rescue!

With each guest armed with a Hotel Giraffe umbrella, the ceremony was set to begin!

Up first, the most adorable (and photogenic!) flower girl you will ever meet, then the happy couple!

After the ceremony, the rain let up for portraits and group shots on the Rooftop Garden!

Isn’t it great when you can get ONE photo of EVERYONE who attended your wedding?! Perks of a small intimate NYC wedding!

Even Jessie the Giraffe got in on the portrait action! We see you, Jessie!

After portraits, guests headed straight into Cocktail hour by enjoying a full open bar plus Non-Alcoholic specialty cocktails,

Amelia & Chase’s Rosemary Cucumber Lemonade & Sparkling Peach Cooler.

Platters of hors d’oeuvres, such as Grilled Shrimp/Chorizo Skewers, Spanikopita, & tuna tartar, were passed around to eager guests.

Dinner of Brick Oven Pizza, Grilled Steak Tagliata, & Wild King Salmon was served Family Style to help support the intimate nature of this fabulous wedding!

Now to CAKE! Amelia & Chase’s cake was specially made for them by the incredibly talented pastry chef, Jim Eckler. It was as delicious as it was beautiful!

The rain cleared just as dinner and cake ended so the Rooftop Garden was open for dancing!

Amelia & Chase had their first dance to “Rose of my heart”, the Johnny Cash cover of Hugh Moffatt’s original. The dance floor was rocking for the rest of the night!

Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Evans!
